Ryder Cup: Zach Johnson with hilarious and unintentional (?) LIV Golf needle!
U.S. Ryder Cup captain Zach Johnson would understandably have been focused on his own performance at the 2023 PGA Championship, but it was quite frankly wishful thinking for the American to get through the week without being asked about LIV Golf.
Johnson began the week by stating that breakaway tour players participating in the Ryder Cup was not even 'on my radar'.
Even after Brooks Koepka vanquished his Masters demons Johnson's position didn't change.

"I just think it's too premature, frankly irresponsible, to even have any opinion about that," Johnson told the media, adding:
There are a bunch of players Johnson could (and probably should) be keeping his eye on when bearing in mind his picks.
Other than Koepka, there's Dustin Johnson who is as popular than ever with his peers.

It might be a little bit too far-fetched at this point but a healthy Bryson DeChambeau also proved he can climb the mountain once again after his top-10 finish at Oak Hill.
Johnson, however, did confirm that he wouldn't be going on any scouting missions at LIV Golf events in the future.
In the process, he delivered a subtle - and hilarious - dig towards LIV Golf.

The aforementioned Johnson was the most recent winner in the LIV Golf League.
Fans didn't get to watch the conclusion of the event after the network bumped it for previously scheduled programming.
The tournament went into a playoff and Johnson overcame Branden Grace and Cameron Smith.
The network has confirmed they won't do that anymore.
Will any LIV Golf players make the Ryder Cup?
Johnson did have high-praise for Koepka, despite not wanting to take a firm stance in the LIV/Ryder Cup debate.
"He's a rare breed mentally where he just is able to bring out his best in the most difficult and trying of circumstances," said Johnson.
He added: "My number one goal as the leader is to go put these guys in a position to win, whatever that looks like. Time will tell."
